Donate to the Campaign
My campaign is funded by individual donations. I frequently see some campaigns focus on the bottom line in a checkbook without really looking carefully at just how money is spent and whether the candidate gets any real bang for the buck.
My promise to voters is that I will make every dollar count by using it for those things that get the word out and let people become familiar with my candidacy: knowledge of the Washington process, leadership, and ability to get things done in large government organizations.
I funded my campaign in the 2006 Republican Primary largely out of my own resources ($40,000). I have already put $20,000 into this 2008 campaign. I have received private donations from $20 to $500 to the limit of $2300 along with in-kind donations. I have the personal resources to do what I need to get done, if that becomes necessary.
I am traveling Wyoming extensively to speak with voters. Since my announcement on November 2nd, I have covered over 30,000 miles in my Suburban. It doubles as my workplace for the moment since that kind of mileage takes time and work that must be done gets done wherever I am.
To Wyoming’s Veterans: This campaign is particularly important for you. There is no veteran in our current Congressional Delegation and I am currently the only veteran standing for election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Wyoming. I will carry your message to Congress and will push the Department of Veterans Affairs to deliver for veterans to the limits of its charter.
Veterans should take note of the cost of campaigns, if every veteran in Wyoming donated just $5 that will get attention. If the many family members of veterans also donated just $5 each that can drive this election.
I need the help of the people of Wyoming to get our Congress going again in the direction we want. The current Congress is focused on distributing money among its constituencies and minimizing controversy in passing out that money. Our Congress is not leading and managing the business of our Nation.
As a Republican, I believe in smaller government and lower taxes. The current Democratic Congress does not understand how lower taxes can cause total tax receipts to go up. Yet that is precisely what happens when people are free to innovate and apply themselves to work they feel is important.
I will work to change the current mindset. I will carry your message to Washington and work to change how the huge, and frequently unresponsive, bureaucracy does business.
